WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY...
I have struggled with depression for a long time. I had even seen other counselors. Randy Simmonds helped me realize that for me, I was really struggling with a crisis of faith and how I fit into God's love. Finding those answers helped me find the peace I had been searching for for years.

Individual Counseling
Is psychotherapy for me?
There are several approaches to psychotherapy - including cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, psycho-dynamic and other kinds of "talk therapy" - that can help you deal with the challenges life has put in front of you. Individual therapy offers you the opportunity to identify the factors that contribute to your difficulty and to deal effectively with the psychological, behavioral, interpersonal and situational causes.
Our skilled therapists can work with you to:
* Pinpoint the life problems that contribute to your depression, anxiety, anger or addiction and help you understand which aspects of those problems you may be able to solve or improve. Your trained therapist can help you identify options for the future and set realistic goals that enable you to enhance your mental and emotional well-being.
* Identify negative or distorted thinking patterns that contribute to feelings of hopelessness and helplessness that accompany your difficulty. For example, you may tend to over generalize, that is, to think of circumstances in terms of "always" or "never." You may also take events personally. One of our trained and competent therapists can help nurture a more positive outlook on life.
* Explore other learned thoughts and behaviors that create problems and contribute to your difficulty. For example, our therapists can help you understand and improve patterns of interacting with other people that contribute to your difficulty.
* Help you regain a sense of control and pleasure in life. Psychotherapy helps you see choices as well as gradually incorporate enjoyable, fulfilling activities back into your life.
*Integrate your spiritual life into your healing process. Whether you profess to be a Christian, a Jew, a Hindu or a Buddhist, or if you are an agnostic or an atheist, questions of life meaning are generally very much of part of how you live your life. Spiritually-integrated counseling offers you the opportunity to explore and understand the seemingly incomprehensible and unmanageable.
